Queensland Traffic Offenders Program
AW Drink Driving Lawyers are long time advocates of the Queensland Traffic Offenders Program (QTOP) and are proud to have recently become sponsors of the program.
QTOP’s purpose is to educate road users on safety and responsibility. The program is recognised by the Queensland Magistrates’ Court, and, in our experience, completion of the course is highly regarded by Magistrates when determining sentences for driving and traffic offences.
The program is delivered by various industry professionals, including emergency services personnel, drug and alcohol counsellors, and lawyers. You may even meet a member of the AW Drink Driving Lawyers team there to provide you with expert advice and offer support for your driving or traffic offence.
When And Where? Available Online – QTOP Is The Only Traffic Offenders Course To Offer An Online Option
The QTOP program consists of three sessions run by qualified industry professionals.
Face to face sessions are held at Nerang on the Gold Coast each Tuesday night and at Mt Gravatt in Brisbane on Wednesday nights. You can attend your three sessions at either venue.
The program is also now offered online. To enroll to complete the course online click here.
Offences – What Driving And Traffic Offences Does QTOP Cover?
The QTOP course provides educational information on all driving and traffic offences. It is relevant to anyone who:
- Has been charged with DUI, including Drink Driving and Drug Driving;
- Is making an Application for a Restricted Work Licence;
- Has been caught driving whilst Unlicenced or Disqualified;
- Would like to apply for the Removal of their Licence Disqualification;

- Has been charged with a Hooning offence; or

Recognised Drink / Drug Driving Course
Whilst QTOP covers all driving and traffic offences, it is particularly important to undertake to get the best possible outcome, including minimum disqualification period, if you have been charged with Drink Driving or Drug Driving. Especially so if you intend to apply for a Work Licence.
The program educates attendees on the short and long term affects alcohol and other drugs have on our bodies and the consequences of driving while under the influence. It also provides techniques to assist drivers to avoid driving whilst affected by drugs or alcohol and promotes responsibility and safe drinking levels.
Recognised By The Queensland Magistrates’ Court
The QTOP program is widely recognised by Magistrates as the leading traffic offenders course in Queensland. When considering sentenceing, Magistrates take into account remorse, change of attitude, and commitment to reform. Held over three sessions, QTOP demonstrates the commitment many Magistrates are looking for.
You will receive a Certificate upon completion of all three sessions. We will hand this up to the Magistrate or annex it to an Affidavit if required. You can also take notes on the lectures to show what you have personally gained from the program. AW Drink Driving Lawyers encourage all of their clients to undertake QTOP prior to their sentence – not only can it minimise your penalty but it’s a powerful tool in changing attitudes and preventing future offending.
How Much Does QTOP Cost?
The three session course cost $185.00 (incl. GST) to complete in person or $285.00 (incl. GST) to complete QTOP online.
